Sala Borsa, Bologna, 2003, 1.500 mq

A historic place in the heart of the city. Three floors on the long side overlooking the square with the Roman baths visible under the glass floor. On the other three sides a single library and the municipal media library. The intervention was delicate, since we are in a restricted structure. The work focused on the balconies and not only: three different worlds for the coffee on the ground floor, for the wine bar on the first floor, and for the restaurant on the second floor where customers consume only on the balcony, while all the technical part is inside separated by mirrored doors that refer to the beautiful surrounding structure. The coffee has a counter embossed with negative printing characters, in coffee color tone on tone. The Wine bar, on the other hand, displays a large curved red Ferrari glass counter, in homage to the fast Emilia, while all the vertical elements are red glass structures, with internal shelves for wine bottles. The restaurant, with a large common glass table that recalls the hull of a boat, welcomes guests waiting to sit down with a glass. Table in polished steel and white glass, ceiling with sound absorbing waves to shield the noise of the square below.
